In addition to general medical consultations, our practice offers the following services:
All children are immunised as per the Child Health Record Book.
Two appointments are required when booking for immunisation -
the first with practice nurse for Child Health Record Book completion
and consent, and the second with the doctor to give injections.
Please make an appointment with your Doctor well in advance of your expected
departure date to discuss your immunisation requirements.
Please bring your travel itinerary.
This service is available upon request for deaf patients.
Whenever possible patients are seen at the Practice where proper facilities are available for examination and diagnosis. Home visits are made for the infirm, very sick and elderly. These visits may need to be discussed with your Doctor.
The Carn-Brae Clinic has a computerised DermDoc ® mole-mapping system, which allows your doctor to conduct comprehensive skin-checks. For patients referred from other practices, we are able to electronically transmit images back to your GP. Please inform the receptionist in advance, as a long consultation may be needed, and note that out of pocket fees apply.
Carn-Brae is a teaching practice for final year medical students from Notre Dame University. From time to time one of these students may be sitting in with your doctor. You have the choice to ask them to leave if you wish.
Your doctor will tell you at the time of ordering any tests if you are able to ring for the result or if you require a follow up consultation. The practice nurse is able to give results out by phone where appropriate between 3-4pm each day except Thursday.
Our practice is committed to preventative care. From time to time you may receive a reminder when you are due for preventative health tests or check ups (eg. pap smears, over 75 years old health assessments, diabetes reviews).
We share an after hours roster with a number of neighbouring practices. Please ring the surgery number 5332 1501 after hours for a message detailing how to contact the doctor on call or the National Home Doctor Service for urgent problems.
